You know, we really DO grossly underestimate how much different your life and YOU, can look and be in a year 🤔
My life has imploded or crumbled more than once, and I’ve had to start from literal scratch. The beginning of 2020 was one of those times of me catching myself and starting from scratch, after my businesses imploded in late 2018/early 2019.
At the start of 2020 I had a few hundreds stashed, I had one social media client that was hugely problematic and we parted ways by end of January, and I was teaching Financial Literacy in person to women in my newly formed Women’s Investment Club.
Then by March 15th . . . Lockdown.
The people who love me went into KArima’s NOT ok mode, and a girlfriend sent some cash, she and a few others organised me with groceries, a friend out of the country wired me cash and my mother started sending care packages from her cupboards. I rallied through the rest of March and April, not leaving the house, ONLY paying my phone bill and eating one meal a day.
At the end of April, a client I’d worked with back in 2011 called and offered me a job. I survived a month of getting to work and eating, til my first salary at the end of May.
June, survival. July, survival. August, I began paying Investors who ended up as Creditors when my businesses imploded in 2018/19. I also began saving ANY coins I could, and I offered a 90day Coaching cycle which brought some clients.
September, I recalibrated one of my businesses and started looking for clients again… One came on board, to begin paying in October .
In November, a past client asked if I could start handling their social media.
December 2020, I ended the year with $10,000+ in savings, less debt, and multiple sources of income – one passive. And of course, I began 2021 the same way, as well as much lighter and trimmer (because apart from eating way less, I went back to my dropped practice of yoga and stretching daily).
One year. One year, LOUD discipline and bad mind, PLENTY sacrifice and holding fast to a Vision.
STOP underestimating the fact that your life could be UNRECOGNIZABLE IN A YEAR, if you would JUST DO THE WORK!
